Christmas FAQ’s
q. what’s your favorite thing about Christmas?
a. i love the feeling you get, when you first wake up and you realize it’s christmas. i’m usually the first one awake that wakes everyone up (at around 8 in the morning). it’s the only time outside of school i wake up that early. i rush downstairs and keep yelling for everyone to get up. after all no one likes opening presents alone. i wait, albeit impatiently, for them to all wake up then i get to make my surprised & happy faces as i neatly open my gifts and stack my used wrapping paper on the floor.

q. what do you do for christmas?
a. well i’m usually at my gramma’s. she’s my favorite person in the whole world and the only consistent best friend i’ve ever had. having christmas there with my family is just magical. when we drive up for christmas, we always stay at my grammas and her house seems to always be the right temperature. her and my uncle always make the most amazing food like candied yams, apple pie, banana nut bread, cheesecake, homemade mac-n-cheese, a full turkey, dressing, cupcakes, cookies…(yuuuuum..). she usually does the cookie baking when i’m there so i get to help her make the cookies & frost them, i feel like a kid again. the cookie baking and the banana nut bread making usually happens the night before christmas so when you wake up, not only is it warm and there’s this slightly opaque white light streaming through icecicle ladden windows but the air still smells like sugar cookies. i’m going to miss all of that this year <3
